In June 2025 the JW & M Cunningham Foundation distributed $6.4 million in investment earnings to St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney and St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney, to support hospital priority projects, research and equipment. 

The following new grants are in addition to existing commitments totalling $2.1 million. 

New Grants for 2025 

  • $1.5 million contribution to BrainLab at St Vincent’s Private Hospital 
  • $1.7 million contribution to the Advanced Therapeutics Compounding Facility at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney 
  • $360,000 to expand the Patient Access Fund for MRIgFUS Clinical Trial 
  • $170,000 contribution to the National Heart Summit 
  • $400,000 to expand the Lung Disease Research Program 
  • $44,000 to improve access to Autism Assessments

Equipment Upgrades

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney

  • $98,000 for new Patient Chairs
  • $450,000 for Heart Ultrasound Equipment in the Anaesthetics department

St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney

  • $110,000 for Breast Cancer Scalp Cooling Machines
  • $155,000 for Urology
  • $175,000 for Head & Neck Cancer Scopes
  • $185,000 for a Liver Fibrosis Scanner for Diabetes
  • $57,500 for emergency airway equipment in Anaesthetics
  • $129,500 for ENT equipment

Centre of Applied Medical Research (AMR)

  • $350,000 for new Centrifuges

  • One-year extension of the Fellow in Orthopaedics Research
