In June 2024 the JW & M Cunningham Foundation distributed more than $7 million in investment earnings to expand the Cunningham Fellows Program and to support hospital priority projects, research and equipment.
The Foundation’s impact has grown significantly since its establishment in 2019, enabling St Vincent’s Hospitals to achieve remarkable clinician development and patient care outcomes.
The following grants are in addition to existing commitments totalling $2.2 million.
New Grants for 2024
- $1 million for the redevelopment of Operating Theatres at St Vincent’s Private Hospital
- $1 million for the redevelopment of the Interventional Cardiology Suites at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney
- $300,000 to expand the Patient Access Fund for MRIgFUS Clinical Trial
- $112,827 for Theranostics Clinical Trials
- $163,609 for a new Thoracic Medicine Trials Coordinator
- $187,431 for a new Cunningham Fellow in Outreach Geriatrics with St Luke’s Lulworth
- $150,000 for a new American Australian Association – St Vincent’s Hospital Clinical Exchange – Cunningham Fellow in Interventional Cardiology

- $110,200 for the Sentinel Node Probe Navigation System (Breast Cancer Surgery)
- $100,000 Sonosite LX Ultrasound (Operating Theatres)
- $10,006 for a Statsensor Creatinine Meter (Operating Theatres)
- $84,675 for Voice Clinic equipment upgrade
- $83,000 for Liposuction equipment (Breast Cancer Surgery)
